West Ham star Dimitri Payet named Euro 2016 player of the tournament after impressive displays for France
West Ham star Dimitri Payet has been named as Euro 2016’s player of the tournament by Uefa's player barometer.
Payet scored three goals during France’s run to final, where they lost 1-0 to Portugal in the Stade de France on Sunday night.
The 29-year-old returned to the national side following a scintillating first season with the Hammers, where he scored nine goals and supplied 12 assists in his debut season in the Premier League.
A statement on Uefa’s official website read: “Dimitri Payet ended Uefa Euro 2016 where he started it, on top of the Player Barometer ahead of Antoine Griezmann and Gareth Bale, while Rui Patrício overtook Manuel Neuer as top goalkeeper.”
Payet’s moment of the tournament came in France’s opening match, where he scored a dramatic late winner in their opening game against Romania.
His second goal came in the 2-0 victory over Albania, before the West Ham star scored his third in the quarter-final victory over Iceland.

Betway are "resettling" the bets - Meaning, that although their web site said they had paid out, and I could run through the process to withdraw the money, apparently it's all cancelled.

Chopper Payet would have stayed on longer but DD was worried that the next 'tackle' would see him sent off, the dirty fucker.
Looking forward to seeing our new midfield enforcer getting stuck in at the Armitage Shanks Bowl.

I was hoping for the best possible outcome: France to win with Payet stealing the show and coming out saying he wanted to stay at West Ham, which would have given us excellent pulling power.
Now it's a slightly different route that we will have to wait and see where it leads us.

...and congrats to Dimi.
Kind of glad for us he didn't play so well and was subbed yesterday, even if it was a bit of a silly decision by the manager.
Just felt he made that change for the sake of it, rather then it was actually needed.
